On a month-to-month foundation, retail gross sales elevated 0.4% from September to October (seasonally adjusted), and gross sales had been up 2.8 % from October 2023.
From the Census Bureau report:
Advance estimates of U.S. retail and meals companies gross sales for October 2024, adjusted for seasonal variation and vacation and trading-day variations, however not for worth adjustments, had been $718.9 billion, a rise of 0.4 % from the earlier month, and up 2.8 % from October 2023. … The August 2024 to September 2024 % change was revised from up 0.4 percen to up 0.8 %.
