Oleksandr Usyk has been launched after being detained in Poland on Tuesday night time. 

A video emerged on social media of the heavyweight champion in handcuffs at Krakow airport.

The explanations for his detention stay unclear however Usyk took to Instagram to say it was “a misunderstanding” with native police.

He wrote: “Dear friends, a misunderstanding took place.

“It was shortly resolved. Due to all who acquired involved.

“Due to Ukrainian diplomats for the environment friendly assist.

“And respect to Polish Police for conducting their obligations with no regards to peak, weight, attain and regalia.

“Thanks God to everything.”

Sky Sports activities Information has reached out to Usyk’s administration for additional clarification on the circumstances.

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned on Telegram: “I spoke to Oleksandr Usyk on the telephone when he was detained.

“I was outraged by this attitude towards our citizen and champion.

“I instructed the Minister of International Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybizi and the Minister of Inside Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko to instantly examine all the main points of the incident on the Krakow airport.

“As soon as I was informed that everything was fine, our champion was released and no one else detained him.”
