From the Federal Reserve: The October 2024 Senior Mortgage Officer Opinion Survey on Financial institution Lending Practices

The October 2024 Senior Mortgage Officer Opinion Survey on Financial institution Lending Practices (SLOOS) addressed modifications within the requirements and phrases on, and demand for, financial institution loans to companies and households over the previous three months, which usually correspond to the third quarter of 2024.

Relating to loans to companies over the third quarter, survey respondents reported, on steadiness, mainly unchanged lending requirements for business and industrial (C&I) loans to giant and middle-market corporations and tighter requirements for loans to small corporations.2 In the meantime, banks reported weaker demand for C&I loans to corporations of all sizes.
